Award-winning Iowa songwriter Chad Elliott has performed for folk music audiences in the U.S. and Canada, sharing the stage with such great artists as Tom Paxton, Loudon Wainwright III, Odetta, Eric Taylor, Buddy Mondlock, Dan Zanes, R.L. Burnside, and Storyhill. Elliott’s songs stand out and have earned him accolades in the folk world over the past few years. He was the winner of FolkAlley.com’s Open Mic Finals in 2006. He also had a song chosen out of 300,000 songs as an award nominee for Top 20 New Folk Songs on JustPlainFolks, putting him on the same list as Janis Ian, Art Garfunkel, and Lori McKenna. Elliott’s life as a prolific artist and songwriter makes for interesting stories that he shares with his audiences on stage.
Chad will be releasing his new CD, Swiftsure, at this concert. It has ten tracks, including some songs that he has has never performed in public. The production was much more experimental than usual, using everything from an electronic keyboard drum loop through a megaphone to an old steel guitar that is rumored to be from Ernest Tubb’s band. There are a wide mix of sounds that layer behind the songs. Be among the first to hear these songs and to own his latest CD!

House concerts are a great way to hear live music in the intimate setting of a living room. Not only do you sit just feet away from the performers, but you have a chance to visit with them before and after the concert, to buy CDs, to socialize with old friends, and to make new ones.
