The Old Spencer High School Auditorium is centrally located at 104 East Fourth Street, just off Grand Avenue.

Built in 1937, at the height of the Great Depression, the Auditorium is on the east end of the 1914 Spencer High School building, which was later used as the Spencer Middle School until 2005. The classroom building has been restored, and now houses the Spencer Area Activity Center (Senior Center) on the first floor and apartments on the second and third floors.

The Auditorium is an Art Deco gem, the crown jewel of Spencer’s Cultural and Entertainment District. The Friends of the Old Spencer High School Auditorium is a nonprofit organization incorporated in 2007 to ensure that the Auditorium is preserved, restored, and upgraded to a state-of-the-art facility to better serve the school district and the community well into the 21st century.
